Standard Score for Trend Analysis
While relative and absolute change offer an intuitive glimpse into data trends over time, they can be misleading. Is a +10% increase significant? Perhaps 5%? This subjective, often as "it depends" and making us rely on our intuition, which isn't always analytical. Enter Standard Scores. By pre-normalizing any KPI, we eliminate the need for constant percentage point calibration. This allows us to easily identify outliers and uncover meaningful patterns with independently of the specific case, moving beyond the simplicity of raw percentage changes.
